Ahoy hoy. Not much news to share. Been working quite a bit. The holidays are crazy!
Christmas is in three days.
It's been a fairly relaxing break so far, I hope I can make the best of it! Right now I need to do some laundry.

Carol, hold my calls.

My LJ will be six years old this Christmas, insane!

Every year around this time I do this long survey thing. I don't know if anyone even reads it, but it's good for personal reflection, oui? Anyway, here it is!

 1. What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before?
- Fell in love with someone I already loved
- Hot yoga :P
- Legally drove a car
- Went to a bar. Awkward.
- Understood and spoke Tagalog... and actually made sense while doing so -- yes!
- Was an extra in a movie, omg
- Ate Dairy Cream ice cream
- Got braces, WHAT?
- Went to a bachelorette party, woooo
- Bought cigarettes. Yes they were for someone else. Yes it was awkward. No it wasn't illegal.
- <strike>Stayed at school overnight</strike> ETA: Woops I just remembered I've actually done that before, in grade 11.
- Went on a trip that wasn't family or school related

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
- I don't think so. I always make them then sort of forget about them.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
- My cousin! Welcome to the world, Mila!

4. Did anyone close to you die?
- Thankfully, no.

5. What countries did you visit?
- I started the year off in the Philippines
- Went to the U.S. the first weekend of December

6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
- Maybe more of a purpose? I've been so lost all year, to be honest.

7. What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
- Jan 10 - ♥
- July 1 - Canada Day tradition
- Aug 19 - braces!
- Aug 30 - the restaurant closed down temporarily and we celebrated at Denny's
- Nov 3 - The Swell Season @ Massey Hall. Magical.
- Nov 16 - just... a crazy day
- Dec 5 - NYC and SNL and ♥ all around

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
- Did a lot of learning things -- driving, yoga, Tagalog...
- My hair is still as long as ever
- Helping Kapisanan donate clothing and things to the Philippines
- I beat the flu, HELL YEAH
- Making music videos and other various editing projects
- Someone thought I was half black. I still can't get over it. It is an achievement since it means I have transformation capabilities!
- The year's not over yet :)

9. What was your biggest failure?
- It's a bit personal. I'm aware of it and I'm moving on. And things are going well.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
- Random flu end of November-beginning of December

11. What was the best thing you bought?
- I looove my cell phone
- TOE WARMERS!
- A few kick ass items of clothing -- namely, my thrift kicks (two pairs), that cool romper dress thing, a couple of Threadless shirts, and a fantastic 725 Originals cardigan lol

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
- As mentioned, the restaurant I work at closed down for a few months, which we definitely celebrated
- My mom did the CIBC Run!
- Oct 9 was my cousin's wedding! Hooray!
- Stacey! I'm so proud of you!

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
- Let's not talk about that.

14. Where did most of your money go?
- School.
- Braces.
- Driving.
- Tagalog.
- Food.
- Clothing.
- Shoppers Drug Mart.
- New York.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
- Andrew sent me an evite to settle this debate we had about a scene from a movie. We watched it and surprisingly both of us lost, but it was super exciting.
- Scott Pilgrim VS The World filming
- Restaurant closing. Lol. Seriously.
- The Swell Season @ Massey Hall
- New York/SNL

16. What song(s) will always remind you of 2009?
- Anything off Strict Joy
- Faust Arp --Radiohead
- There Will Never Be Another Tonight --Bryan Adams
- Fancy Footwork --Chromeo

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Neither, if that makes any sense
ii. thinner or fatter? Possibly thinner
iii. richer or poorer? Who knows?

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
- Taking pictures
- Reading
- Honest, hard work

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
- Stressing over work
- Cancelling plans and bailing and things

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
- With the fam, it'll be lovely :)

21. Did you fall in love in 2009?
- I did actually

(no #22)

23. How many one-night stands?
- Oh dear. NO.

24. What was your favourite TV program?
- SNL. I don't care how unfunny it can be sometimes, I love it
- The Office
- Glee

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
- Actually, yes. Sorry.

26. What was the best book you read?
- Scott Pilgrim Vol 1-5. READ THEM. NOW.
- I'm totally serious about the above.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
- Lol I dunno... Justice?

28. What did you want and get?
- To be a part of an Edgar Wright film :P twice </bragging>
- A new lens for Penny
- SNL tickets
- NBC Chimes :P

29. What did you want and not get?
- Various materialistic things, but that's perfectly fine
- I tried out for something, and it didn't work out. It's okay, though. Better things shall come!

30. What was your favourite film of this year?
- Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs was so amazingly silly and charming, I still can't get over it

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
- Had a fancy shmancy dinner with my boyfriend, it was lovely!
- And I turned 20

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably satisfying?
- I have no idea. I think if I knew I would hopefully have found it and thus been "immeasurably satisfied". Alas this is not the case, but I am still happy.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009?
- A lame attempt to copy everyone else... seriously

34. What kept you sane?
- The Tripod
- Getting Twitter and then deleting it lol
- The Artist's Way
- Comedy

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
- Bill Hader
- Edgar Wright

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
- I don't know how political it was but Typhoon Ondoy/Ketsana shook me up quite a bit

37. Who did you miss?
- Dorothy

38. Who was the best new person you met?
- SO MANY PEOPLE
- Various work staff
- The fun people from Love, War, and Standardized Testing
- Everyone from Kapisanan
- Manoj!
- A select few from Battle of the Blades, celebs included lol

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009:
- Don't ever, ever take love for granted.
- You're never as nice as you think you are.
- Protect your debit PIN.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
- I feel like the entire Strict Joy album sums up my year. An interesting coincidence, but it's true. I'm not going to quote it. You should just go out and buy it. Then listen to the whole thing. Many times.

Marshmallows for toasting,
:)N

Blake Lively/Rihanna - SNL Dress Rehearsal

Helloooo :)

So my boyfriend and I got tickets to the SNL dress taping (I KNOW, RIGHT?!) on Saturday! I thought all you SNL fans would be interested in notes and details about what I got to see :) I'm formatting this post similar to mcghengland_xx's standby experience she wrote a while back because it was super detailed and awesome haha.

Shall we?

Let's quickly go back to November when I got this fantastic e-mail from NBC saying that I got tickets. This is actually the first time I've entered the ticket lottery so I was definitely surprised that I got a response. So trust me, guys! People do get tickets through this thing!

Anyway, I planned a weekend trip to New York, leaving Friday night from Toronto, and getting to the city in the early morning. We did some sightseeing around midtown and were expected to be at 30 Rock "no later than 6:45pm" as per the e-mail. Naturally, we decided to get there early and found a small line up had started just before 6pm. It was a separate line from the folks who had standby tickets, and there also seemed to be two other lines in the lobby of people who appeared to be VIPs and... other VIPs? I don't know, lol.

Some time before 7pm I showed the SNL people my info and they gave me those two tickets you see in that third photo above. Thank goodness I grabbed a picture of it because as luck would have it, they took it back before we got inside the studio :( More waiting, a metal detector, the elevator ride up, got a wristband (also seen above), waiting in the hallway with lots of cool sketch photos, and fiiinally got into the studio. I was somewhat off to the side but I could see quite a bit. The band was playing when we got in, they're really really good! The band leader, Lenny something, was introduced as "Lenny Pendarvis". And then someone introduced Don Pardo (as "Don Pendarvis") and he said hello. Then he introduced castmember "Jason Pendarvis" lol, I don't know what was up with the Pendarvis joke but it was pretty funny the way they were saying it. Pendarvis. So yeah, Jason Sudeikis was there in his bald cap, getting ready to play Biden. He got the crowd going, and was bragging about how the band knew EVERY song. So he asked for suggestions. Some girl yelled "Mix Tape" and Jason was like, "What? Did you say 'Takin' It to the Streets'?" and he brought Will Forte out and they both sang that song haha. Pretty good. Theeeen the show started at 8pm.

OKAY OKAY now the actual show stuff. I'll go through the sketches that you guys saw when it aired and mention any differences or other things. And I'll let you know the sketches that were cut, too. I'm hoping my memory works with me here.

Cold Open - Obama Address/White House Crashers.
This didn't really change from dress. I couldn't stop laughing though. I love how animated they were throughout. At dress Jason/Biden said 'okay funny faces this time!' while taking pics with Bobby and Kristen. Also they need to post these pictures online or something lol.

Monologue.
It didn't really have any jokes at dress before the muppets showed up. Andy/Swedish Chef didn't tell a knock knock joke either. Everything else was the same. Oh man, Bill as Animal never gets old. Loved Kristen's random singing too.

Swine Fever.
Repeat from the Taylor Swift show, still pretty funny though.

Vagisil Bowling Tournament 1989.
Oh my goodness I loved this sketch. It was clever and it was also very clear how much Will loves performing in a fake moustache. It was pretty much the same during dress. Vagisil!

The Situation Room.
I thought it was pretty funny, especially Jason's mumbling. Blake wasn't smiling that much during the dress rehearsal, she looked really pissed off instead. I'm also pretty sure there was a fourth sheet of paper from Tiger's written statement that said something like 'She has taken over the house' on the back. Arghh I can't remember, sorry. Oh and at the end, instead of a picture of a bear next to the cat and dog, they showed a picture of a tiger.

Shy Ronnie.
My boyfriend loved this. I thought it was hilarious. But yeah, prerecorded, so nothing more to add.

Gossip Girl: Staten Island.
I didn't notice a difference in this one. It wasn't the funniest for me, but I thought Blake and the cast did a good job with it.

Kickspit Underground Rock Festival.
I love Nasim! And Jason looked so much someone I go to school with, haha. This was such a random commercial. Ahaha Ass Dan. And pitchforks. I thought it was great. I think they added Justin Long and Turtle from Entourage to that list of guests, because I don't remember them mentioned at dress.

Weekend Update.
- At dress I'm pretty sure the first joke was something like 'this past week was about crashing' and showed a pic of the party crashers and Tiger's car.
- The misspelled signs joke had a sign with something else written. Sorry I can't remember what it said but 'No Pubic Option' is funnier lol.
- The Aretha + bear's mouth joke was definitely my favourite.
- This is random but did you know that someone offstage pushes the person in the rolling chair towards Seth when they're introduced? I was so amused by that! And Kenan as Bill Cosby didn't look like he was going to laugh quite so much during dress. But it was a good bit.
- Your Test Came Back Positive, Charlie Brown. LOL.
- The joke about the Marilyn Monroe magnet barely got a laugh at dress, and Seth was upset because it was apparently his favourite joke. He said he couldn't argue since no one laughed. But he's head writer and still got his way since it ended up in the show. And nobody laughed, lol. Aw, poor thing. There were obviously a few other jokes that didn't make it in, but I can't remember them.
- There were two additional interview things at dress that didn't make the live show. One had Jason and Jenny as a married couple, talking about how gay marriage was ruining their marriage with each other. Jenny was saying things like 'the day the first gay marriage was honoured in [some state], I had sex with another man', basically blaming gay marriage for making them cheat on each other. It sort of seemed irrelevant and like an old joke, and it didn't get a lot of laughs. Towards the end, Andy came on as a New Jersey Nets fan, trying to defend the team's bad record, while actually reminding us how bad they actually are. I thought it was funnier than the Brittany Murphy bit. So yeah, WU was at least twice as long at dress rehearsal.
- ETA: Other WU jokes I just remembered. One was about the writer of the Scooby Doo theme song passing away. Seth said that we'd finally be able to hear what that song sounds like played slowly on the bagpipes. Another joke was about how alligator farmers were experiencing slower business since the only people buying alligator skin products were the really young and really old (accompanied by an image of an old lady with a purse and a young model with some alligator outfit).

Virginiaca.
Lol Virginica is back with her... 4th or 5th child? This was pretty much the exact same at dress. It was an okay sketch overall, yeah?

UPS.
Haha. I thought this whole concept was so funny. Oh man, Bill in a that wig.

Late Night with Chris Hansen.
What a random idea for a sketch but I sort of liked it. Bill as Chris Hansen was awesome. Fred as the Spanish sidekick was a little strange. I think it was funnier at dress, I don't know why. The Cher impression was very random though. Really? Cher? Oh and fyi, it was Will who tackled Andy in that weird camo outfit.

UPS.
The last joke definitely saved the ad. Oh, the lady wigs. More on this below.

NASA Potato Chip.
An observation... the set/room this was shot in was tiiiiiny! Anyway, a strange last sketch. It also was put at the end of the dress rehearsal. The crew really seemed to enjoy when Jason spat into Will's hand. And not to be gross or anything, but the "chip" was much less watery at dress. It was super gross looking. Haha, I don't know what else to say.

Overall I thought it was a solid show.

And these are sketches that were cut:

UPS #1.
There were actually three UPS commercials. The two that aired were the second two they showed us. [The NBC website actually recognizes this, naming the two uploaded UPS videos as UPS #2 and #3]. The first one basically introduced the character. Bill came out and was like 'you may be wondering who I am and why I'm in this ad. Well, first, a celebrity would have been really expensive' and he turned the S in UPS into a dollar symbol. He turned the P into a stick figure. And he turned the U into a face (himself) with a lady wig. I thought it was the real ad at first, haha. I wish this wasn't cut because it helped the other two make more sense. Also it was one extra appearance for Hader lol.

PBS International Masterworks.
This was that program where Bill was the host, he had an English accent. It was basically the same as in that Ryan Reynolds episode, where they had a bunch of Norwegians doing American dialogue. This time I'm pretty sure they were supposed to be from a different country, but I can't remember which. The scene took place in a diner and it was very random. Blake was the waitress, Will was a customer, Bobby and Jason were bikers, Andy was a football player, and I'm pretty sure Kristen and Fred were there but I can't remember why. Like I said, it was really the exact same idea, just in a different scene, and it wasn't that funny so I can see why it was cut.

News Team Promo Shoot.
Bill was the director of a promo for this news team. Kenan was the floor director/script supervisor/I don't know but he had a headset and kept telling everyone they were rolling. But the main part of the sketch was that Jason, Blake and Fred were three news anchors and all they had to do was turn around to face the camera when their name was announced and smile or cross their arms or something. Jason did it fine each take. Blake's character was fine too, but kept asking things like 'should I give a 6 o'clock wink or an 11 o'clock wink?'. And when the camera got to Fred's character, apparently the weather man, he couldn't do it. He was half turned to the camera, smiling and not moving and then when they yelled cut he'd be like 'aaawww did I not do it right?'. They did about 3 or 4 takes and he couldn't get it right. It was a silly joke my little cousins could come up with, sorry writers. Though some people in the audience loved it. In the end, they showed the 'final promo' and it just had Blake using her hands to force Fred to turn his head and smile.

Paparazzi Brothers.
It was a show about two Italian brothers who brought their paparazzi behaviour to their family lives. Fred and Bill played the brothers at a family Christmas party, where they both had cameras and kept taking pictures of everyone else, yelling their names, asking for poses. They said 'thaaaaank youuuu' in a funny way when they were done taking pictures of people. Kristen played their mother, and they pulled out a notepad and asked for her full name and asked Abby who she was wearing. Also in this was Blake (whose character seemed to like the camera), Jason, Jenny and Bobby (who was caught zipping up his pants coming out of the bathroom). Not hilarious, but I still kind of liked it.

I feel like I forgot one on this list, like there should be more that were cut, but then again, a lot of sketches were squeezed into the show.

Other random notes:
- Chris Hansen was actually in the audience! I didn't notice until goodnights when Bill was waving to us. Bill said 'hey!' in his general direction and gave him a sort of 'I hope you thought that was funny!' thumbs up. Also, Chris Hansen is tall, lol.
- Seth, Bobby and Fred also waved at us during/after goodnights.
- I caught Bill dancing to the band once or twice during the show.
- I didn't stay after the actual show to see if I could meet any of them. It was raining/snowing pretty hard out all day and it was freezing!
- Somewhat related, I bought the NBC chimes from the NBC store. They. Are. Amazing!
- If you ever get the opportunity to go to a dress or live taping, GO! It was a lot of fun just watching the little things and seeing it actually in front of your eyes, haha.

So yeah! I think that about sums up my story. I told you it would be incredibly long (twss). If you made it this far, thanks for reading!

:)N

many things.

Hello friends :)

Just wanted to pop in and give a quick update because I'm super excited to be going to New York for the weekend! In case I don't come back for whatever reason, let this be the last record of my existence lol.

It has been quite the eventful month. A lot has happened; a lot has changed.

I'm back at work, which is nice. It's different. But yeah, it's money, right? School is just about done for the semester. It's actually been a bit of a struggle. My heart isn't entirely in it, to be honest. I'm not sure when/if that'll change but taking things day by day is still working just fine. Oh and I spent a night in an audio editing suite last week which was definitely an experience; I did what I had to do!
Last Saturday/Sunday I actually got the flu. I'm not sure if it was the flu. But I've been at home recovering and I'm happy to say that I'm doing much much better now!
As a result I'm behind on certain preparations, which must all be done tomorrow! Ack! I may have forgotten what fresh air tastes like haha.
And I finally listened to The Fame Monster recently. It's just magical.

December might just be an exciting month! We'll have to see :) I hope I don't have to work too much, even though having extra money would be helpful this time of year.

Anyway, hopefully you'll hear from me again later this month with my annual end of the year survey thing that I love to do for some reason. Or I'll at least have an NYC story.

To infinity and beyond,
:)N

school tomorrow.

So it seems,
I can't close the book on summer until I've made some kind of official 'farewell summer' lj entry. Aaaand that's what I'm doing now! Wow!

I'm actually quite glad with how I spent my summer this year. Definitely better than last year. And I didn't even leave the GTA. *high fives self*

Ended up working more than I was hoping to, but it sort of worked in the end, I guess. Had tonnnnnns of new experiences I think if I wrote about everything it would take me foreverrr to write. I'm good for summer-izing (hahahhahhaha, funny) everything kind of the same way I did it last year.

First, of course this entry needs an image.
Say hello to Gunther from the past (meaning earlier today)!

Summer movies: (omg so many) I Love You, Man; Adventureland; Star Trek; Up; Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince; The Hangover; (500) Days of Summer; District 9 ...and Lake Placid :P
Summer songs: Justin Beiber - "One Time" LOL; Violent Femmes - "Blister in the Sun"; Goapele - "Closer"
Summer photo: eatmymoose.deviantart.com/art/august-2009-id-133905781
Summer book: Scott Pilgrim series
Summer TV shows: SYTYCD/SYTYCDC; Freaks and Geeks; Mad Men; SNL
Summer accomplishment: My coworkers presented me with the 'Only one that actually works hard' award at our restaurant closing celebration; also that giant Sudoku thing with twenty something puzzles all connected and stuff
Summer guilty pleasure: ONTD... and Twitter for a while. But then I deleted my account lol
Summer obsessions: The Scott Pilgrim books and Edgar Wright's blog about the movie's production
Summer frustration: Work work work
Summer place: Spring Rolls; Hamilton; Andrew's house
Summer food: OMG THESE en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kr%C3%B3wki and that broccoli cheddar soup from Panera Bread ahaha
Summer drink: Water, seriously
Summer lessons: Filipino language; driving; hot yoga :)
Summer mistake: I stopped reading and participating in "The Artists Way" even after I was proud of myself for completing a week of 'reading deprivation'. I do plan on trying it again when the time is right.
Summer surprise: I got braces, lol
Summer new experience: Got paid to pretend I was having a good time, quietly. I also happened to be in the same room as Jason Schwartzman
Summer skills: Ultimate gif making; setting up C-Stands
Summer tradition: Canada Day! Bike riding, crazy bread and a Froster :)
Summer quote: "Oh, man"
Summer purchases: Two very fine pairs of shoes from the thrift store; and I also got a new lens for Penny :)
Summer outfit: I don't have a pic but it's this romper that I bought last week with one of the above mentioned shoes. I wore it yesterday and it was nice :)
Summer word: Smashing!
Summer rating: 9.2/10

Total times the word 'summer' has been mentioned in this entry: 29

Goodbye!
It was real!
And it was great!
And it was really great!
:)N
a thing called freedom.

Oh hi :)

Wanna know something cool? I'm FREEEEEEE!!! Yesterday was the last day at my job (well, for now) as the restaurant is undergoing renovations as we speak, apparently. Even though it was quite ridiculous how much they expected us to do before the day's end, it ended up being quite the fun night... hanging out, eating breakfast, handing out awards and ranting about work. Now I'm off for a week before school starts and I'm so excited I don't know what to do with myself. Gonna try to squeeze in as many things as possible. Except for today. Today I just want to relax and watch movies. And eat a lot of wafer cookies. Yum.

A mid entry Ramona Flowers/MEW photo? I think so!

(from Edgar Wright's lovely lovely blog)

I've done quite a bit of stuff in the last few weeks alone. Kinda adding up to a rather interesting summer. I'll probably do one of those 'omg summer's finally over! Here's what happened!' entries. Next week.

One more thing!
I currently have 'Sunglasses At Night' stuck in my head. I had the girliest night of my life last weekend at my cousin's bachelorette shindig. This song was playing on MuchMore when we were getting ready in the hotel. I unfortunately don't have the song on my computer and I don't have any more money on iTunes at the moment. Anyone have an mp3 of this wonderful Corey Hart song that they can share with moi? I'm willing to trade for a song of equal (or even better) quality and catchiness. It would be much appreciated!

Let's never be strangers, ever!
:)N
can't sleep.

I was looking at this semi-old video and reading some old lj entries and I realized how much I miss performing. I miss the rush of being on stage not knowing if I can move a muscle, then having everything just flow naturally. I guess kind of like an out-of-body experience. I miss people watching me doing something that I love to do, even if I'm not totally confident about my abilities or talents or whatever. With an audience it adds a whole new flavour. I miss being the entertainment, the character. It's not everyday that one can step away from the reality we call life to temporarily become someone or something else. I unfortunately no longer have any kind of mentor now who can guide me and push me and believe in me in such an artistic way. I think that's what I need right now. Am I allowed to be that person myself? I have no idea what type of person I am becoming, I just hope that I'm doing everything for the right reasons, for me. I really just miss being a part of that kind of creative process. There's seriously no rush quite like it.

And I'll find my way back to you,
:)N

I'm so tired and whining about being tired and continuing to let myself be tired is making me even more tired.

This morning I went to a 6:30am hot yoga class.
Yeah.
I know.
I'm glad I did it because it was so refreshing but boy was it tiring. The class was 15 minutes longer than the ones I usually take so that was a bonus.

I wish today was last Wednesday.
I think around this time I was rolling around in the grass, not thinking about how I have to go to work in half an hour.
Bah. Humbug.

Okay that is all.
Here is a fantastic .gif to awaken your senses. (Don't ask me where I got it from.)

Do the right thing,
:)N

whining about work.

I'm looking at my calendar for the next month or so and there's so much purple on it. Guess what that colour category is!

Um, work lately has been hectic. I don't know how many people I told this to but at the beginning of summer, I was working a bit less but I actually seemed to enjoy and possibly look forward to going to work... I think a lot of it had to do with the people I'd been spending so much time with. Awesome. Seriously. The environment was always quite relaxed and I felt super comfortable enough that I wouldn't hold back my thoughts. And now, it's getting really crazy and I'm not seeing some people as much and it feels like a totally different place. Unfortunately things are not gonna change any time soon.
I just hope that I survive the rest of this summer. It'll be worth it, right? I really really hope so.

Other than that, I still have a bunch of things to think about and/or accomplish before September hits us. Wish me luck!

From me to you,
:)N

P.S.
Today, at
12:34:56 7/8/9

I was...sitting right here, in front of the computer. Not surprising, lol.

I've done some other stuff since then but yeah.

Hello!

I actually just got back from watching Transformers 2. Gotta say I really felt the sexual tension between Optimus and Sam. You would too! Waiting more than two hours was mildly worth it. I think that's about it.

I'm finally doing driving lessons so that's new. I'm trying to blend in with 16/17 year olds ahah. Unfortunately I don't have to try very hard.

Also today this opportunity came up for next week and I don't wanna jinx it but I just need to get rid of two shifts at work in order for things to work out. I'm crossing my fingers super tight.

Random sidenote: I bought new socks, some postcards and a Kurt Vonnegut book.

And finally, allow me to entertain you with a few more of my latest gif creations. Enjoy and have a pleasant night!

Smile big,
:)N
well hello there!

So I read that HBP was being pushed back YET again! Apparently the IMAX release date is going to be two weeks after the regular relsease of July 15. Kinda ridiculous, no? I wasn't exactly planning on watching IMAX but that still pretty much blows.

I don't have anything major to update you with. I mostly just wanted an excuse to share the above image :)

Life is pretty good. Working a bit, helping with some things, reading, writing and organizing things. Hang outs here and there. Oh! And errands! I'm doing a lot of errands. Also I'm trying to squeeze in as much bike riding and yoga but I've honestly been lacking in that department. Is that interesting enough stuff to share?

Oh no I think I just heard some thunder outside. Kinda scared, tbh. I should probably sleep now!

Take care,
:)N

"Feels like 31."

I'm still alive! Busy week is almost done but in case you were wondering, I've been helping out with this small-ish film with Fiddler's Green Films. It's called Love, War and Standardized Testing and it's had me travelling to Hamilton on my off days from work. It's looking great so far and I can't wait until it's released!

So there's that, work, and some rare moments (like now) that I get to sit at home and honestly just relax. I'm really behind on checking my e-mails and other various internet portals I communicate through. Sorry! But yeah, things are looking pretty good right now. And because this entry lacks any imagery here's a quick gif of what I wish I was doing right now.

Sorry to keep this short and a little boring. I should probably head over to work now!

Thanks for reading,
:)N

Super late P.S./edit because I don't want to make a whole entry about this (11:37pm): I watched the pilot of that TV show Glee that apparently came on right after American Idol some day this week. Gotta say, I actually sort of liked it. Although I like it kind of like I liked TSLOTAT...when it started. Except Glee is slightly funnier, and takes place at a McKinley High! Google a bit and see what other show had a McKinley High. Just thought you should know. :)
Another TV related P.P.S./edit: I missed SYTYCD tonight! I can't believe it's that time of year already! I'm still recovering from my Mark Kanemura fever, oh boy.

stuff about me. i know you've been waiting for this.

Because I'm awake at these wee hours and because I feel like it, I'm gonna tell you some stories and other things from today*
I wore contacts so that I could wear sunglasses. Then I forgot my sunglasses at home :)
Yeah well anyway I was waiting for the train to go to Hamilton today when the announcer person was like 'the train's delayed by 9 minutes'. Time passes**. 'The train is stopped and there is an indefinite delay'. Lots of time passes. 'The train is cancelled. And so is the next one.' These things only depart once an hour, might I add. So I STORMED out of the station, umbrella in hand, even though it wasn't raining.
I headed over to a bus and that's right, I got on it. Sat in the back and it was windy even though buses are pretty slow. At one of the terminals on the way to my desired destination an old man got on and refused to pay fare and didn't have a transfer. Some other stuff happened and eventually he was let on. A woman immediately boards after the man and she has a dog. Unfortunately she is also deaf so suddenly there's a whole bunch of commotion and stuff because dogs (sans muzzles) are not allowed on buses. Are bus drivers trained to learn sign language? I thought the bus driver was a little strict but I think she handled the situation well. Um, that's the end of that chapter. Did it satisfy?
Moving on, when I got to my first desired location (no, not Hamilton) I had time before catching my connection so I grabbed a muffin and a bottle of water. I'm on this other bus for quite a while, finished the muffin and took a sip of the water at some point. I got off the bus and forgot the water. Dang!
The rest of my day was relatively interesting but I'll stop it there because I don't want to go on forever now.

INSTEAD! I want to talk about The Office finale. Hey, look! An image!

I don't know about you but I liked it. It was only half an hour but it felt like an hour, and I mean that in the best way possible. I'm not sure yet how I feel about the "cliffhanger" but I thought it was acted really really well. Actually everyone did really well in this episode. I loved the tension and the chemistry and the little moments. Oh and I think Erin (Ellie Kemper) is such a great edition to the cast.

Oh now don't you think I'm done with my random talk. Well, I mostly am. I should probably stop writing so much so I can get some sleep, which I think I need.

I'm done typing now!
:)N

*Stories and other things may be edited for time, length and/or level of interestingness
**Super apologies for my lack of English skills and constantly changing tenses

how to rule at doing nothing.

Another day.
I'm actually really REALLY close to being done with school.

I'm working on this thing that's due tomorrow. Well I've been TRYING to work on it all day. Not too much luck. Made a couple of gifs, watched some videos, ate some food, did some yoga... I'm getting there! Don't worry.

Yesterday I went to visit Dorothy.
It was an interesting experience as I've never gone by myself before. Long bus ride, but it was definitely worth it. And the area was decorated quite nicely, more so because it was her birthday! I brought the bag too :) Miss you!

I need to get started on my summer organization. I have quite a few things planned, mostly taking place around work work work! Hopefully it'll be a good summer... Hopefully I won't look back on this entry in the beginning of September and think 'OMG NOTHING'S CHANGED'. Please oh please, I hope that doesn't happen.

I should make a list. YES.

That's about it from me today! But I'll share a few of my SNL-related-ish creations from today and the last week or so. I'm still working on my gif making skills.

Feel free to steal, just tell me first :)

THE END.
:)N

An after midnight edit: Yeah, now it's gonna be pretty much impossible to finish this. I just found out the Scott Pilgrim film website has just gone up:
http://www.scottpilgrimthemovie.com/
I am insaaaaanely excited for this movie... even though I'm only on the second book lol (I blame school!) The cast looks really awesome so far, and it's the director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz! Oh and btw, I'm gonna find out how to be IN this movie as it's shooting all summer in Toronto ahaha XD (chances = highly unlikely) PEACE.

some thoughts.

Dear nobody in particular, but actually everybody,

I'm gonna say, about 99% of my acquintances and 40% of my actual friends (depending on the situation for both sets of individuals)...if I run into you or we are in close proximities for whatever reason, expected or otherwise, I'm not gonna acknowledge your presence.
I'm not mean, at least I don't think so. And I'm not as "blind" and unaware as I horribly pretend to be. Just totally awkward and possibly terrified of confrontations with people I actually like. Sometimes. By this I'm just trying to say that I'm sorry for such incidents in the past. And the ones to come.
This is something I'm slowly trying to get over. Mostly with paranoid/creepy smiling. And strange nods of the head. For the most part, I'm just waiting for you to "notice" me first.

I hope you understand and can respect my honesty.

Thanks,
:)N

a thought. or two.

Over the last few days I've been slowly deleting old LJ entries, mostly Friends Only ones that I've found I no longer need. About 3/4 of the stuff is gone now, but I wrote too much back then anyway.

I also got Twitter. I have no idea why. But see if you can find me :)

Reading week was such a waaaaaaaaste! School-wise anyway, lol. Still have so much to do and it's Saturday! Seriously?

My internet is acting loopy. I think that's a sign.

Hm. What an interesting update.

:)N

Oh dear my head hurts. It's from looking at the computer screen too much.
How am I supposed to reeeeead? Especially when I'm reading about the internet and other various digital things. Wow.

Whoa-wait-WHAT? It's SNOWING?!

This week has so far been less than productive. But I'm getting there, slowly...
TONS TONS TONS to do.
Good luck everyone :)

I love Mark Kanemura.

:)N

P.S.
